The world is like a giant chess board to Dr. Zeitgeist, the mastermind behind the secret Cabal which hordes and extorts advanced technology. Dr. Zeitgeist is convinced that on a sole planet in a dead galaxy lies the the lost temple of Khyber Gorah and, even now, has one of his pawns searching the desolate planet for clues of its location.
There is only one person in the universe who knows what Zeitgeist looks like: Zoey Walker, the only survivor of his human experiments. She too will be drawn onto his playing board, used as bait to lure another to the temple, one with the skills to bypass all of its dangerous booby traps.
Sara, now older and wiser, has retired from her high profile job in order to investigate the strange Solid Matter Phenomenon, (known as SMP), that she and Zoey first encountered in Tokyo years prior. She is still haunted by Rick Daring's vow to uncover the Cabal, even though he mysteriously disappeared a year ago...
(This takes place 5 years after "Rick Daring and the Brilliant 5" serial.)
